For those who love the history of cars, seeing so many from all generations parading down the road is like a dream come true. And those that appreciate the unique body design, paint choices, or engine efficiencies are lost in their own revelry during the spectacle.
This past August was no exception out in Pebble Beach.
Best in Class and We Agree!
Well ain’t she a beaut?!
This 1952 Porsche 356 Reutter Cabriolet strutted her stuff at the recent Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach, CA and was awarded Best in Class. Restored in its original paint color, Fashion Grey in the Glasurit 55 Line, she is only one of 294 Cabriolets made that year.
Now no disrespect to the high-end paint lines like Glasurit, but as a side note, we’ve used high end lines, and we’ve used lines that are more budget-friendly. And in our experience, there is little difference in the quality and durability. It’s like clothing; you sometimes just pay more for a brand name even if the quality or styling isn’t any better than the store brand.
We’ll always use the best paint for the money based on our experience with it when working on customer vehicles. The only time we’ll use a name brand paint that doesn’t offer anything better than an alternative less-expensive option, is when a customer specifically requests it. We think that’s just what’s right by our customers.
Now back to our award winners!
The Most Elegant Convertible award got snatched up by Chip Connor for his 1932 Packard 906 Twin Six Dietrich Convertible Victoria.
